How families can prepare before supports start

Simple preparation that helps the first few weeks of support go smoothly.

Write down the practical details

Preferred days and times, access arrangements, parking, pets, and anything a new support worker should know on day one.

Be clear about goals

Supports work best when everyone understands what the participant is working towards, not just the tasks being completed.

Agree how you will communicate

Decide who the main contact will be, the best way to reach them, and how changes will be confirmed.

This guide is general information only and does not replace advice about your individual NDIS plan.
